Following her appearance earlier this week at the premiere of Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck, Frances Bean Cobain received some harsh criticisms from tabloids regarding her physical appearance.
The following day, Frances Bean Tweeted: “Apparently I'm not well because I dressed like morticia Addams last night and am pale? Okay media spin cycle, okay. #slownewsday”.

Musicians, including Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Gerard Way, took to Twitter to defend her, writing:
@alka_seltzer666 I get psyched every time ppl don't understand how I dress. It's like they're congratulating you for being your own! Go you🎉

While at the screening at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Frances Bean gave a surprise speech, stating that “The reason I’ve been able to watch it six times is because of the film Brett made.”
“I didn’t know Kurt,” she continued, adding that she feels “very very strongly” that he would have been happy with the documentary.
“He was a human being,” she said. “And I think that’s been lost within the romanticism and the myth of him and his story. What this movie will provide, hopefully, is a real understanding of who he was. And I feel like he’d be really proud to have this movie made about him. So I’d like to thank Brett a lot.”
