Lady Gaga has discussed her recent concert in Israel and how it has impacted her view on the current conflict in the region.
The controversial pop-star played in Tel Aviv on 13th September, despite speculation that she might cancel the concert due to violence in Gaza. Arists ranging from Neil Young to Megadeth had pulled out of dates in Israel due to the escalation of hostilities between the country and Palestine.
However Gaga spoke to The Independent about the gig saying it was: “Fantastic! Tel Aviv was magnificent. The world view of Israel is just not reality. It’s in a beautiful place, the people are in good spirits. I had a very emotional show with those fans. It was wonderful.”

During the concert, Gaga was joined by her current collaborator, jazz icon Tony Bennett. Speaking of the surprise Gaga revealed: “I was very overwhelmed when Tony surprised me there. I knew he was coming [to Tel Aviv] for a show, but he came a day early and he said: ‘Hey, you wanna sing ‘Anything But Love’ at the ArtRave?’ And I thought, Gosh, how magnificent! To bridge the jazz and the pop world at the same time. And at that show there were 25,000 people singing every word.”
Cheek To Cheek, the pair’s collaborative jazz album was released on 22 September. It features many jazz standards songs such as ‘Sophisticated Lady,’ ‘Lush Life’ and 'Let's Face The Music And Dance'.
Lady Gaga will be bringing her ArtRave to the UK next month. For more information and tickets visit here.
