Bob Dylan performed as David Letterman's final musical guest last night (19 May) playing a fitting tribute to the host's departure with 'The Night We Called It a Day'.
It was a rare appearance on Dylan's behalf, having only appeared on the show a few times in the 35 years Letterman has been broadcasting. Letterman introduced him in flattering style: "This man first appeared on the old show in 1984 and was last on the show in 1993, I couldn't be more happy, more honoured to have him with us tonight. The great Bob Dylan."
After a host of special musical guests over the past week including Tom Waits, Mumford & Sons and Elvis Costello, Dylan closed the show and Letterman's 35 year career with an emotional rendition of 'The Night We Called it a Day' from his 2015 album Shadows In The Night.
