XL Recordings' latest, brilliant signing Ibeyi have revealed their latest single, 'Mama Says'. Listen to it below.
The French/Cuban duo, whose fondness for eclectic percussion surely stems from their Buena Vista Social Club father, released their debut EP Oya last month.
'Mama Says' begins with just vocals, a hypnotically repetitive cajon drum beat and sparse piano chords. By the end, as is the case with previous Ibeyi offerings, it descends into beautiful Yoruban chanting.
