Pink Floyd have released the video to 'Louder Than Words' as a tribute to late keyboard player Rick Wright. Watch below.
The video features some archival footage of the band from the recording sessions for 1993's Division Bell album. This is interwoven with the boatman who features on the album's cover, gently propelling a small boat through the clouds towards the sun. Also intercut is the story of a fishing community that has become landlocked. The hulls of rusting boats pepper a largely arid landscape and are used as playgrounds by the children. Though bordering on the mawkish, it does serve the message of not knowing what one has until it is gone.
The music for the album was drawn from recordings made during Division Bell, and Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason decided to finish the tracks as it would be the last time that the three musicians would be able to record together.
Gilmour also revealed that he and Rick Wright were not the most communicative partnership and that it was music that brought them together, louder than words could.
