As Glasto fever dies down, it is time to look ahead to what the rest of festival season has to offer. You know what you're getting with the likes of V, Reading, Leeds etc - big stages, big bands, huge queues. But if you fancy something a little more serene and personal but still with a great line-up, then there's a festival with a difference: why not check out the beautiful King Of Of The Mountains?
Gigwise are proud partners with the event - bringing in the best in music, arts and family fun from the local Dales community, and across our beautiful county of Yorkshire, alongside a couple of extra special guests from the North of England and beyond.
"King of the Mountains is a three day music and arts festival taking place in the idyllic village of Muker, Swaledale from 4-6 July 2014," a spokesman said. "Created to highlight the stunning beauty of the area during the Yorkshire Grand Depart and to celebrate the best in performance, culture and food from Yorkshire and beyond. On the 5th July, Le Tour de France passes through Swaledale and right by the festival.
"With music, comedy, Yorkshire food and ales, as well as kids and family activities, not to mention Tour de Cinema, camping, cycle and car parks as well as a huge screen to watch all the action ..we are one of the best places to enjoy the weekend!"
The brilliant line-up features the likes of Huw Stephens, Dry The River, Paul Thomas Saunders, To Kill A King, Sky Larkin and many, many more. That's not to mention the amazing range of locally sourced foods and real ales on offer, as well as fun for the kids, a range of luxury camping options and bill of great art, culture and beyond.
A spokesman added: "All alongside the perfect spot to watch Le Tour De France and soak in the atmosphere of this amazing event. Watch Le Tour pass through from the festival site, or from our hilltop viewing area, or alternatively take a short walk to Buttertubs Pass. Or if you prefer to take a seat, we are installing a huge entertainment screen on which to watch all Le Tour action from the site.
"However you enjoy the race, there will be a field of festival fun to explore alongside."
