It is just days away from one of the biggest weekends of the year; Reading & Leeds. The line-up is complete, the weather forecast is looking good. For those yet to firm up their schedule, there is one must-see act to add to your list.
Las Vegas natives Imagine Dragons stormed onto the scene with their 2013 hit 'Radioactive'. Three years, two albums and multiple hit singles later, they've made a name for themselves as one of America's biggest rock bands. A European festival exclusive, the alt-rockers are bound to put on a show to remember.
Winning over crowds all over the world with their high intensity live show, the band made their Reading & Leeds debut on the Radio 1/ NME stage in 2013. On Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th, they make their triumphant return. This time to dominate the main stage, right before highly-anticipated headliners Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The band's stadium rock sound will no doubt soar in the scorching heat.
An impressive set of awards and accolades to their name, Imagine Dragons are a sure thing. Sure to draw a crowd and sure to deliver. With so many hits in their repertoire, it will be interesting to see what makes the hour long set list. Tracks to watch out for include 'I'm So Sorry', a hard-hitting rock tune, and the slightly sinister 'Gold'. Of course 'Radioactive' and 'Demons' will bring the house down. Perhaps their stunning rendition of 'Forever Young' might even make an appearance.
Heavy on anthemic sing-a-longs, pounding drum beats and guitar solos, Imagine Dragons have found success marrying rock and roll with mainstream pop and underlying synths. As their only European festival appearance this summer, it is not so easy to predict what they will bring to their coveted 'sunset slot'. Expect relentless energy, subtle grandiosity and raw vulnerability. You definitely don't want to miss this one.
