Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood has given another update on progress on the band's upcoming new album, revealing that they're also re-working an old fan favourite.

So far, fans have been made aware that Radiohead's new album is said to be 'coming along nicely', after entering the studio last year and having since adopted innovative and evolving new writing and recording techniques

Now Radiohead fans on Reddit have translated a Dutch interview with Greenwood on 3voor12, explaining the long wait on progress on their ninth album - the follow-up to 2011's The King Of Limbs.

“We’re working in periods now,” he said, “this afternoon, Thom and I will work on a song we started yesterday, see what it will lead to.”

Greenwood also added that, as with In Rainbows' 'Nude', the band have developed a rare track from the mid-90s - this time the fan favourite 'Lift'.

“What people don’t know is that there’s a very old song on each album," said Greenwood. "We never found the right arrangement for [‘Nude’], until then. ‘Lift’ is just like that. When the idea is right, it stays right. It doesn’t really matter in which form."

While Radiohead's new album is expected later this year, frontman Thom Yorke has written an 18-day-long song for an exhibition from artist, friend and collaborator Stanley Donwood
