AMY, the soon to be released and much critically acclaimed documentary about Amy Winehouse, will have its London premiere screened live across the UK in in special preview events.

Cinemas across the country will be hosting screenings of live footage from the London Gala premiere of the documentary, including interviews from the red carpet, the documentary itself.

Also screened after the film will be a celebration of Winehouse's life, where director Asif Kapadia (who previously worked on the winning BAFTA winning Senna) and other special guests are due to talk about the documentary and the late singer.

The documentary itself boasts unheard tracks from Winehouse and 'extensive unseen archive footage' and is being promoted as a documentary about the soulful singer 'in her own words.' The CEO of Universal Music, the label to which Winehouse was signed, has talked previously about the ideas surrounding the film: "About two years ago we decided to make a movie about her - her career and her life. It's a very complicated and tender movie. It tackles lots of things about family and media, fame, addiction, but most importantly, it captures the very heart of what she was about, which is an amazing person and a true musical genius."

You can find out which cinemas near you will be showing the special preview and premiere and buy tickets by visiting the film's website here

Amy will go on show to the general public on 3 July across the UK.
