Bruce Springsteen has released a lyric video for a previously unreleased track, recorded during The River sessions, entitled ‘Party Lights’.
The Ties That Bind: The River Collection will be released on 4 December, and fans will be pleased to hear that Springsteen has revealed a teaser bonus track from The River with a full-length lyric video.
A bootlegged version of ‘Party Lights’, which was recorded as a solo acoustic home demo in 1979, was leaked many years ago. However, the full-band version has not been released until now. The track’s lyrics are also featured on ‘Point Blank’ and Tom Wait’s ‘Jersey Girl’. The song is revolves around a young mother who is forced to grow up quickly; a theme also adopted by the album’s title track, ‘The River’.
