Andrew Bird, who released his latest album, Echolocations: Canyon, in February 2015, has announced a 2016 world tour. Bird will visit New York, Montreal, Minneapolis, London and Amsterdam.

Bird said, “$1 for every ticket sold on the North American tour will be directed to organizations working to end gun violence to build safer communities.”

All proceeds from his show on 11 December at the Hideout, Chicago, will go to Foundations of Music.

The 'Tenuousness' singer had teased some new material during his summer shows this year, so fans are probably going to be expecting a new album ahead of his upcoming tour. Bird's last album, Break It Yourself, was released in 2012, so a new record is long overdue.

The singer songwriter will also be playing in his hometown before the new year, between 7 December and 11 December.
