James Cordon made the headlines for posing as the worlds biggest music stars in a recent Apple Music advert. And it seems he cannot resist posing as a pop star again. This time making an appearance with the actual Backstreet Boys as a satirical sixth member on his TV show. You can watch the clip below of them playing 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)'.
To Cordon's credit he doesn’t do a terrible job and gets some of the synchronised dance moves down. The band are much more Cordon than Bowie, who Cordon posed as and caused outrage.
"I care about this more than maybe anything else on the planet: We are bringing back boy bands," Corden said to introduce them. "I'm talking proper boy bands. Five guys together: I'm talking about the cute one, the funny one, the nice one, the other one and the maverick who refused to play by the rules – all living together in some weird mansion in Orlando.
"I'm aware that boy bands haven't gone away, right?" he continued. "But now, they just stand onstage wearing skinny jeans and Vans sneakers – and some of them even have the audacity to pick up instruments. That is not what I want in a boy band. I want matching outfits, synchronized dancing and way-over-budget music videos."
He then unveiled Backstreet Boys, the "top-selling boy band of all-time," who appeared on a stage submerged by smoke. Cordon joined the group for their choreographed dance moves and even crooned the "Am I sexual?" lyric.
