T in the Park have announced various changes to their new Strathallan Castle site to avoid last year’s logistical issues. Watch a video of the changes below.

Last summer, T in the Park saw the festival make its home on a new site, but after several teething problems, there were issues with the local council, and issues with security, travel and crowd movement.

This year, however, T have come better prepared and have released a video to explain the festival’s attempts to avoid any of the issues that were experienced in the new location last year.

T have announced the moving of several stages in the video. King Tut’s stage, Slam Tent, Radio 1 stage  and the main stage have all moved to free up more space making it easier for the festival goers to move around. There is now a dedicated eating area under the name of Taste T, and many more water points across the festival.

With regards to security, T have announced several improvements. Not only will there be more trained staff on site, but there will also be zone managers. The zone managers will be placed in positions of much importance such as, the campsite, bus stations, pick up and drop off points, as well as, car parks. This will presumably be a way of easing the congestion problems that the local council of Perth and Kinross complained about last year.

Zone managers will also have better mediums of contact with their teams and the festivals management.

T in the Park almost lost its license last year due to the complaints they received from festival goers and local residents alike. The festival announced the festival would go ahead in the Strathallan Castle area last year after there were worries that the noise would disturb nesting Ospreys.

The festival has recently announced headliners, The Stone Roses, Calvin Harris, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, as well as, The Last Shadow Puppets, The 1975 and many more.

T In The Park will see 92,000 music fans return to descend upon Strathallan Castle in Perthshire from Friday 8 - Sunday 10 July. For tickets and more information, visit here
