During the final ever episode of American Idol, five past winners performed a David Bowie tribute. Check it out below.

On the show last night (7 April), the fall male group performed a medley that consisted of some of the icon’s biggest hits, such as, ‘Starman’, ‘The Jean Genie’, and, ‘Rebel Rebel’.

The past winners that performed the medley were, David Cook, Kris Allen, Phillip Phillips, Nick Fradian and Lee DeWyze.

The show that first aired in 2002, has run for a successful 15 seasons total. The 15th and final series was announced in a Sky Network press conference last year.

David Bowie sadly passed away in January of this year, just two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his final album, Blackstar.

This isn’t the only time that David Bowie has been paid tribute to since his death. An array of artists close to Ziggy Stardust have played several different tributes, with the most recent being in Carnegie Hall in New York. The show saw the likes of Michael Stipe of REM, Debbie Harry of Blondie, and The Flaiming Lips perform the late singer’s most successful singles.

It was announced today that David Bowie’s former drummer, Dennis Davis, passed away.
