Pete Doherty has released a teaser to some new music via his YouTube channel.
The video was uploaded earlier today and shows a record playing a song that The Libertines' man continues to sing a long with. The information box below the video simply says, “Brand new; Double A-side: Peter Doherty - The whole world is our playground & James Johnston - Dark water. Released on RSD 16th April 2016 - be quick there's only a few!”
‘The Whole World Is Our Playground’ has been previously released by Doherty, but the YouTube channel has confirmed that the version being released now will have a new spin on it. The channel replying to a fan's comment said,"Ah you might say that.....wait till you hear the new treatment of the old song! We hope you like it....."
The release will coincide with Record Store Day. The day will see music lovers head to stores to pick up vinyls at, often, a cut price.
Doherty was announced for SoundCity festival in Liverpool late last month, and the festival slot will be alongside a national tour seeing Doherty play a total of seven dates. For more information and tickets, visit here.
