Robin Dewhurst, the father of Josh Dewhurst - the 19 year old guitarist in fast-rising indie 5-piece, Blossoms - is set to play the Tim Peaks stage at Kendal Calling this year.
The musician - who has a doctorate in music and teaches at Salford University - played piano for Blossoms' Radio 1 session. Frontman Tom Ogden and bassist Charlie Salt sang over his playing for a jaw dropping cover of ABBA's 'The Winnder Take It All' on Huw Stephens' show. You can watch the performance below.
Such was the quality of his performance Tim Peaks have added the pianist and composer to their line up at Kendal Calling for what they promise will be a special performance. Dewhurst joins the likes of Grumbling Fur, Blueprint Blue, and Hatcham Social at the festival.
Kendal Calling takes place at Lowther Deer Park in The Lake District between 28 and 31 July. See the full line-up so far below. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (9 February) at 9am. Get tickets and more information here.
