The former guitarist of My Chemical Romance has been rushed to hospital after sustaining some serious injuries.

It is believed that Iero and another member of his band were unloading their van outside of their venue when a bus crashed into them.

Both members of the band, Frank Iero and The Patience, have sustained some serious injuries and been rushed to hospital.

A third member was involved but escaped serious injury and was treated by paramedics on the scene.

One man has been airlifted to the St Vincent hospital in Sydney, whilst another was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.

Both members are reported to have sustained serious injuries but are in a stable condition.

The bus involved in the crash had no passengers during the crash, but the driver has been taken to the hospital for mandatory tests.

Park Street has been closed until further notice while police investigations are carried out.

Iero was set to play the Metro Theatre in Sydney, but the show has now been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances", and fans have been offered a refund from their point of purchase.
