It looks like Elastica could be working on new music together - 16 years after the Britpop band broke up.
Rumours have started to circulate following a single tweet from Abbey Road Studios mastering engineer Sean Magee who said that he "Cut a record for Elastica today" in a tweet last week. He added that the band members "hadn't seen each other for 20yrs" and that "It's great to be there when moments like that happen."

The addition of photographic evidence of the 'Connection' band together in the studio can only be a good sign though, despite lead singer Justine Frischmann being absent from the shots.
We could be jumping the gun a little though, as we don't know exactly what form the project will be. It could be a collection of unreleased music, reissue or remaster of previous material.
The 90s heroes also responded to a comment on the photo on their Facebook page, telling the fan "please be patient" when he asked about the nature of the studio shenanigans.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
Gigwise previously named Elastica the "Queen to Damon Albarn's Britpop King" in our The Stars Of Britpop: Where Are They Now? feature, which described 'Connection' and 'Waking Up' as staple anthems of the 1990s.
