The line-up for Tim Peaks Diner at Kendal Calling has been announced with the likes of Tim Burgess, Pete Salisbury(The Verve/Charlatans), and Don Letts all playing the excellently curated stage.
The venue, situated just up the hill from the second biggest stage has a prime location looking over the festival and is always a highlight. Last year the line-up was good enough to call it a day there, drink some great coffee, and not go anywhere else.
Secret sets by Blossoms, Cabbage, and Peter Doherty were highlights and of the programmed bands, BMX Bandits were amazing and Grumbling Fur were Pink Floyd good.
This year will see the legendary soul/reggae selector Don Letts, Tim Burgess playing tines from his ever-expanding vinyl collection (his Twitter has shown off some real gems that he's bought recently). Also Pete Salisbury drummer of The Verve and now The Charlatans is down to play. What exactly that could be who knows. It will definitely be worth popping your head into the cabin incase there's some surprise guests there to play with him.
Meanwhile, radio presenter with one of the best heads for A&R in the business, John Kennedy, is curating - he has announced The Rhythm Method, Francobollo, and Wovoka Gentle as a start. The Sundowners who are like a British psychedelic Fleetwood Mac are there to provide perfect summery indie guitar music. Of the Welsh contingent this year, Yucatan are live with their expansive cinematic approach to pop music and Llanreggub Brass Band are covering one of Super Furry Animals' best albums, Mwng. Now that sounds like a lot of fun.
