The Decemberists starred on The Simpsons last night (9 December), which saw the band being hired as music teachers at Springfield Elementary. Watch a clip of their appearance below.
The band not only had a cameo in the episode, but also wrote and recorded original music for it. The episode is called 'The Day The Earth Stood Cool', and also features appearances from Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen.
Frontman Colin Meloy, the only one with a speaking part, also wrote his line himself which - according to the band - "makes it that much more Decemberist-ier."
In the clip, Meloy asks the students if they want to learn a song about "press gangs and infanticide."

In the episode, a new couple move to Springfield with their son - and they're so cool that it leads to Homer trying to mimic their style and attitude.
This isn't the first time that bands have starred in The Simpsons. The best known episode was 'Homerpalooza', which saw cameos from The Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill and Sonic Youth.
And Tom Waits and Justin Bieber are also lined up to perform in future episodes this series.
Below, check out the best bands of all time! (Who don't really exist)
