Pulp have spoken out about the chances of them writing new material and playing more gigs, adding that they 'honestly haven't discussed it'.
It does seem rather strange, especially as they are currently rallying to promote their upcoming new film 'PULP: A Film About Life, Death And Supermarkets' - chronicling their final show at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena.
Despite the incredible demand for the band's return, guitarist Steve Mackey told NME about the chances of the band making a new record: "I know you're not going to believe this but we honestly haven't talked about it."
Keyboardist Candida Doyle added: "We're just not that kind of band. If you step back into that environment where you want to release records, then all these complications step up."
The news is sure to disappoint some fans, especially after frontman Jarvis Cocker told the Guardian that he intends to spent the rest of 2014 writing music, because despite everything else, it remains his main focus: "Whether it's to impress girls, or whatever, music is the thing that has become my means of self-expression."
"So this year I'm taking a break from the radio show to find out if I've got any interesting songs left to write or whether I've written them all."
The Britpop haven't released an album since 2001's brilliant We Love Life, but did drop an one-off single in the form the James Murphy-produced 'After You' - a leftover demo from the We Love Life Sessions.

The UK premiere of PULP: A Film About Life, Death And Supermarkets will take place at the Sheffield Documentary Festival on Saturday 7 June, with the movie and a Q&A also being streamed to select cinemas around the UK.
