In one of the most bizarre gigs of the year, Slash played a five song acoustic set at the House of Commons.

Taking place yesterday (3 June), on the terrace in front of 200 people, the gig was part of the Rock the House series. It saw Slash invited by Mike Weatherely, the Conservative MP for Hove and Portslade, also the Intellectual Property advisor to the Prime Minister. After the show, Slash was treated to a private tour of the houses of parliament.

Slash was joined by Myles Kennedy for the set which included 'Bent To Fly', 'Standing In The Sun', 'Starlight' 'Fall To Pieces' and 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. The duo are currently working with the Conspirators on Slash's third solo album, which is due for release on 15 September.

"It was a privilege to welcome such rock icons to Parliament and I am grateful for Slash and Myles’ support for my Rock the House competition," said Mike Weatherely. "The gig was absolutely fantastic and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the launch of Slash's new album, 'World On Fire'."

"It was an honour to be in the first ever audience to hear their new record played live, along with the classics such as 'Sweet Child O' Mine', which certainly got the audience in fine spirits."
