Katy Perry has launched her own record label - and already signed her first artist.
The 'Dark Horse' singer announced the launch of Metamorphosis Music, an imprint of the Perry's current record label Capitol Records, in a tweet yesterday (June 17). Perry also told fans she had signed her first artist to Metamorphosis, singer-songwriter Ferras.
Ferras, who Perry describes as "talented and soulful", is based in Los Angeles and has released one album and two EPs, the second of which was released yesterday on Metamorphosis.

Ferras' eponymous EP features a track with Perry called 'Legends Never Die'. The EP was executive-produced by Perry, who in a press release said Ferras was "a man with a message". "I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold," she added.
It's the latest in a series of business ventures outside of music for Perry, who has also released three perfumes, voiced a character in The Smurfs film, and co-produced a documentary detailing her rise to fame and California Dreams tour.
