Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean has hit out at Lana Del Rey seemingly glamourising death in a controversial interview, saying that she knows from 'personal experience' the pain of losing a loved one - and music icon.

Del Rey was quoted as saying she 'wished she was dead' in a recent interview with The Guardian, which she later critised on Twitter, claiming the writer's intentions behind the article were 'sinister'. Lana Del Rey did indeed say that she wished she was dead - but the audio released by the newspaper suggested her statement was more casual than the words spoken.

Now, Frances Bean has take issue with Lana's statement, warning her not to waste her own talent in a string of tweets.

"The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize," Bean wrote on Twitter. "I'll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it's 'cool'."

"Well, it's fucking not. Embrace life, because you only get one life. The people u mentioned wasted that life. Don't be one of those people."

When a fan told Bean to ease off on her Tweets, directed at Del Rey, she then stated that her messages were not an attack on the singer.

"I told her to not waste her life. How is that attacking. I literally said embrace this life because you only get one," she added. "You're too talented to waste it away."

"I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience."
