Prince has revealed that he has two new albums due for release - one featuring a track inspired by an awesome meme, which you can see above.
For months, fans of His Royal Badness have been keenly awaiting the release of the album made with new backing band 3RDEYEGIRL, titled PLECTRUMELECTRUM. Now, however, the Star Tribune report that were attended the Purple One's pad at the Paisley Park estate, where they sat in on a listening party for another album.
The other record is described as more of a Prince solo record, and features tracks such as 'The Gold Standard' (described as "a percolating electro-funk update of classic Prince"), a remix of a track performed with 3RDEYEGIRL ('Funk ‘n’ Roll') and a rap-collaboration.
But best of all, there's another track called 'This Could Be Us', inspired by the brilliant meme taken from the Purple Rain movie that you can see above. It seems Prince has a keen eye for memes of him, after he made his 'Breakfast Can Wait' artwork a tribute to Dave Chappelle's infamous comedy sketch.
Prince did not reveal any release dates for either album, but voiced his frustration at the slow pace of the music industry, saying: "Every No. 1 song, every Top 10 song, every song in the Top 40 is at least six months old,” he said. “We should be able to make music and put it out now."

Prince has jus completed round two of his UK Hit And Run Tour, and was rumoured to be performing a secret set at Glastonbury - but now Michael Eavis has said that this will be highly unlikely. Either way, there's a 30th anniversary edition of Purple Rain on the way so it's going to be a fun year for Prince fans regardless.
