If you're over 40 and starting to feel that you might be getting a bit too old for festivals, then you can take comfort, guidance and inspiration from the 'Bonnagrannies', the women approaching 90 who attend Bonnaroo festival every year.
Mary Niederhauser, Alice Ann Barge, Laddie Neil and Nancy Lee Pitts have been friends for over 50 years, but only began attending festivals three years ago when they were aged beteen 83 and 85.
Now all approaching 90, the self-proclaimed 'Bonnagrannies' are allowed handicap wristbands that allow them to watch sets from the What Stage seating area. When they first went, they'd set up camp at the back of the 90,000 strong crowd and watch from afar.

"We don't need earplugs" insisted Niederhauser, "we just take our hearing aids out!" She added, "The kids were so sweet to us, and I can't wait to return."
As Barge's granddaughter said: "Rock and roll has no expiration date."
