Kasabian have refused to comment on reports that Tom Meighan accidentally hit his dad with a car.

According to The Sun newspaper, Meighan was in a car park in Leicester when he accidentally pressed down on the accelerator and knocked down his father. Unsurprisingly, Meighan does not yet have a driving license.

The reports say that Meighan's father, who is also called Tom, was admitted to hospital for only minor injuries.

According to a source for The Sun, "Tom Senior was badly bruised and had a few stitches and spent a day in hospital, but he knew it was a complete freak accident. Tom himsef felt awful about it all but thankfully his dad has made a full recovery and saw the funny side."

Kasabian were subsequently contacted by NME regarding the incident, but a spokesperson said that the band had no comment.

Kasabian's new album 48:13 went straight to No.1 last weekend (15 June) - the group's fourth UK No.1 album.

The band are currently preparing to headline the Sunday night of Glastonbury, which takes place between 25 and 29 June.
