As the rain begins to thrash down on Worthy Farm, Glastonbury looks set to kick off in style with a host of bands and DJ’s lined up to play tonight (Thursday 26th June) before the festival officially kicks off tomorrow.
With people still arriving on-site after gates opened at 8am yesterday, this evening will see a whole host of both established and new acts take to the multitude of stages across the imminently muddy gargantuan site.
Fans of dark, atmospheric electronica can experience East India Youth’s attention grabbing set in the Wow! Tent at 9:15pm, who will be preceded by Hot Chip side-project New Build. Other fans of Hot Chip (or 90’s resurgent house music) should make sure to catch The 2 Bears in The Stonebridge Bar between 1-3am, with Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell no doubt set to drop material from their forthcoming second album due out later this year.
In terms of upcoming artists, LXURY’s set on the BBC Introducing Stage at 8pm also promises to be nothing short of brilliant (if the strength of the young producer’s studio tracks to date are anything to go by) whilst Keith Allen’s ‘performance’ at 2am in the Rabbit Hole will no doubt prove to be interesting.
