A woman has died at Glastonbury festival and a man is in hospital fighting for his life after taking ketamine, police have confirmed.
In two separate incidents, a 67-year-old woman died of natural causes on site last night (June 25), with her death not being treated as suspicious. Now, a 26-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after taking ketamine at the festival.
Avon and Somerset Police have said it's not believed the batch of the drug he took was contaminated, but the man, whose family have been informed of the incident, suffered an adverse reaction after he took it. Police have since warned festival-goers about the dangers of taking drugs.
However, police have said crime is down 50% at this year's festival compared to this time last year, with just 12 arrests so far. Up to 90,000 to 100,000 people have descended on Worthy Farm since the gates officially opened yesterday.
