The US soul singer Bobby Womack has died aged 70.
No cause of death has been announced for the singer, who has also written hits for many of the best musicians of the 20th century, but he had suffered from cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
Womack's hits included 'It's All Over Now', which was made famous by The Rolling Stones, 'Across 110th Street' and 'Lookin' For A Love'.

Speaking on Newsnight in 2012 of his decision to let The Rolling Stones record 'It's All Over Now', Womack revealed that it was Sam Cooke who persuaded him.
"He said, 'One day you'll be part of history, this group is gonna be huge'. I said, 'Why don't they get their own songs?'"

According to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, the death of his infant son led to a long battle with drug abuse, but after a lengthy musical hiatus, Womack returned to music in 2009 when he contributed to Gorillaz' third album.
In 2012, Womack released his first album in over ten years, The Bravest Man In The Universe.
