George Ezra has spoken out about his love for Glastonbury  - as he returns to Worthy Farm after launching his career here last year.

The 'Budapest' star of the BBC Sound of 2014 shortlist first came to the world's attention at Glasto 2013 - and said he is thrilled to return after his latest single charted at No.4 and his acclaimed debut album comes out on Monday.

"I did two songs for live radio on the BBC Introducing stage last year and it was strange being back there actually, because the first festival I played last year was here on that stage," George told Gigwise, backstage at Glastonbury. "I walked in and I was like 'I can't remember it being this big' - I thought I'd really triumphed last year but they have made it bigger."

He continued: "Hopefully I can play Glastonbury next year too. I don't mind which stage, I just love being here - hopefully early on the Friday, then I can enjoy the rest of the weekend. Before I came here, everyone was just like 'oh, it's huge, it's amazing'. Then you get here and it's so huge and the atmosphere is brilliant. It's the perfect mix. Latitude's good because it's got the right mix of music, art and partying at night, things like Reading and Leeds have a lot of adolescents whereas this feels like the perfect mixture."

When asked about his thoughts on Metallica's opinion-splitting headline set tomorrow, Ezra replied: "I'd like to see them. I don't buy into the controversy at all. These music festivals, especially Glastonbury, there's so much going on. Last year's headliners were phenomenal. I don't know if this year's headlienrs excite me quite as much, but each year it will change."

George Ezra will be performing again on the John Peel Stage at 1.50pm on Sunday. His debut album, Wanted On Voyage, will be released on Monday 30 June 2014.
