Glastonbury day three: mud, hangovers and Dolly Parton

The final day of Glastonbury has begun, with performances expected from Dolly Parton, The 1975 and The Black Keys later this afternoon and Kasabian billed to headline The Pyramid Stage tonight (Sunday 29 June).

Parton will take to the festival’s main stage to fill the acclaimed ‘legend’ slot at 4:20 this afternoon, with fans no doubt in store for a multitude of hits from her illustrious career, including ‘9-5’ and ‘Jolene’.

The 1975 and Ed Sheeran will also play their biggest Glastonbury slots to date, taking to The Pyramid before and after Parton respectively, perfect timing with Sheeran’s second album ‘x’ expected to take the number one spot in the official album chart later tonight.

Heard soundchecking just minutes ago, Kasabian will be bringing 48:13 to Worthy Farm to close the festival in the wake of a career defining show in Leicester’s Victoria Park last weekend. Massive Attack will be offering an atmospheric alternative to chanting 'EEZ-EH' by playing at The Other Stage at the same time, whilst London Grammar will be topping the bill in The John Peel Tent.

After a barrage of apocalyptic weather across the site over the weekend, BBC Weather reports that today will see Worthy Farm remain dry, though as one would expect the whole farm is still a complete mudbath throughout and incredibly slippery under foot.
