Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has showed his enthusiasm for up-coming TV documentary series Sonic Highways - a project described by Grohl as "a love letter to the history of American music".
Describing the eight part series at the summer TV critics' tour, Grohl explained how his passion for music and career development has never failed to waver, reports Billboard.
"We could just go make another record in the studio, hit the road and sell a bunch of T-shirts," he said. "It's all about reinventing the process."
The documentary series, which is tied into the Foo Fighters' currently nameless album due for release in November, sees the band visit eight studios in eight American cities to interview musicians associated with the area.
Grohl, who chose to write lyrics on the very last day of each visit, so as to get the most out of each session, was said to be wholly inspired by the experience.
Musicians the band visit include Dolly Parton, Chuck D, Gary Clark Jr and Gibby Haynes and the cities include Nashville, Tennessee, New York, Texas, Chicago and Seattle.
