Johnny Greenwood has confirmed that he and Thom Yorke have begun brainstorming ideas for the new Radiohead album.

Earlier this month, Johnny Greenwood revealed to BBC 6music that Radiohead plan to make a new album in September. He told presenter Mary Anne Hobbes: "We're going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it's sounding."

However, speaking in yesterday's Sunday Times, Greenwood revealed they have already started communicating on ideas. “I was emailing stuff to Thom last night, actually," he told the paper. "But it’s not the same, is it? You don’t see him tutting.”

When asked if there was a release date for the new album, he responded: “No! Release? No, no idea. No,” adding: “Our plan is to start making music soon. We’ve just got to get the inertia back.”

The bands last album was 2011's King Of The Limbs, with news of the follow-up eagerly anticipated by fans. In the three year hiatus from Radiohead, Thom Yorke has released an album and toured with Atoms For Peace, while Greenwood released a classical album with The National's Bryce Dessner.
