A full and final inquest into the death of Peaches Geldof will be held today (Wednesday 23 July, 2014) to determine the role that heroin played in her tragic demise.

The writer, daughter of Bob Geldof and husband of former SCUM frontman Tom Cohen, was found dead at her home in Kent back in April.

A post-mortem was unable to determine the exact cause of death for the 25-year-old mother of two, but a hearing was told that recent heroin use "was likely to have played a role".

At the time of her death, Bob Geldof issued the following statement:

"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain.
"She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.  Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? "We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.
"Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.
"Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof."

Her husband and father to her children, Tom Cohen, added:
"My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever."

The full inquest will take place in Gravesend today.
