Ahead of supporting them at the upcoming Invictus Games closing show, Kaiser Chiefs have paid tribute to the 'inspirational' Foo Fighters.

The two bands have played together a number of times and have formed a strong relationship. They'll be playing a string of stadium shows in South Africa together, before returning to play London's Queen Elizabeth's Park with Ellie Goulding, Ryan Adams and many more in September.

Speaking to Gigwise about their relationship with the Foos, Kaiser Chiefs guitarist Andrew 'Whitey' White replied: "Us and Dave are like 'that'! I honestly think Peanut has got his number."

When asked if they'd learned anything from playing with them, Whitey replied: "Just to put 110% into it and try to enjoy it. They do genuinely put everything into all that they do. Dave Grohl is just one of those genuine guys, he's quite infectious.

"You want to hang around and talk to him, he's one of the good people whose passion drives the music industry on a bit - and that does rub off a little bit, because we're quite dour Northerners."

Drummer Vijay Mistry added: "Sound City said it all - the like to just try something new and every album needs to be a bit different. Have a different vibe, feel, etc - just try stuff."

Foo Fighters headline the Invictus Games at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 14 September. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 1 August. For more information, visit Gigwise Tickets
