Yesterday night (30 July) rumours began circulating that Kettering's Alt-Fest, at which bands such as Marilyn Manson, Gary Numan and The Cult were set to play, had been cancelled.
Marilyn Manson's Facebook page said that the event was cancelled, as did Combichris, and yet the festival themselves released no official confirmation. Today, they released a statement about 'difficult issues' they're dealing with - which was about as uninformative as their silence had been.
The lack of information is beginning to frustrate fans to say the least - some bands scheduled to appear are even posting on the festival's Facebook page, angry that they're being left in the dark.
Here are just a few of the confused, disappointed and angry tweets regarding the whol sorry affair.
Can alt-fest release a proper statement so I can book Colchester and William Control in London. Actually ridiculous.

Anything from the Alt fest organisers about what is happening yet? Shame on you for keeping people in the dark so much.

Glad I held off buying travel and accomodation for Alt Fest until now. Hope I can get my money back for the tickets if it is cancelled.

According to an official statement from Alt-Fest, fans will know "before Monday" whether or not the festival is still going ahead. If it does though, they will probably be lacking a fair few angry bands.
