Hugely popular DJs Afrojack and Paul Oakenfold have recently said that Ibiza has become too expensive.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat the two stars said that the "mystique" of the island has been ruined by the rising prices.
Oakenfold explained: "I feel like they are ripping us off," and said that the clubs are getting more and more expensive.
Afrojack, who has been reported to be one of the highest-paid DJs in the world, pointed out that Ibizan clubs are "too focused on the VIP". He then compared his experiences of playing Ibiza with Mykonos and said: "I'm playing in Ibiza this year, only because they pay well. The whole magic you used to have on Ibiza is not possible any more because a ticket is 75 euros. I go to Mykonos, play exactly the same thing, and you buy a 10 euro ticket."
Steve Angello, of Swedish House Mafia fame, agreed with his fellow DJs and commented: "Now it is about selling tickets and big names, it has become what it is everywhere else. The mystique of Ibiza isn't there any more."
Director of the famous Pacha nightclub in Ibiza, Steve Hulme, defended the prices, and said: "There is no real desire from the clubs just to up the charges as much as we can, there's a cost versus income and a basic profit that needs to be made."
