Getting a Mercury nomination might be a big deal for some, but Bombay Bicycle Club's Jamie MacColl has been reminded by his Mum: "Awards are bullshit."
The band have been nominated for the award for their fourth album, So LOng, See You Tomorrow. The band's guitarist, Jamie McColl, told us: "I got lots of calls and texts from my Mum today, telling me that it didn't matter and that awards are bullshit, so that's probably the most meaningful conversation I've had."

Lead singer Jack Steadman was equally keen not to get too caught up in the hype. "There's nothing much surreal about this whole thing really," he said. "Well no, that sounds like we're being really confident about it. The whole thing's completely surreal and we weren't expecting any of it(!)"
The band's gig highlight of the year might surprise you: "Justin Timberlake in Portugal. I managed to get underneath the stage so when I popped up he was like a foot away from me, it was magical."
