The Killers Brandon Flowers has revealed his second solo album is 'definitely going to be different' from 2010's Flamingo.
Speaking to NME about his sessions with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (best known for his work with Haim, Sky Ferreira and Vampire Weekend) he revealed that he's looking to make some significant changes.
"Change is good and there's always growth," said Flowers. "I'm always looking for that."
It also appears to be a genuinely collaborative effort. "It's nice to steer the ship and that's what you'd think I’d do on my own album, but I'm letting Ariel take over every now and then. That's led to some really exciting things and sounds I would never have used."
It's clear that the sessions have improved from their earlier when in August Flowers said the producer was "taking me out of my comfort zone" and how "at first we were butting our heads together".
It seems however that the sessions with Rechtshaid are proving productive. "He's really knowledgeable about every genre; it's pretty incredible what he's able to reference and pull out. It's definitely going to be different, but I'm still in the thick of it, hammering away.
