Laura Marling has announced details of her new album, Short Movie - and unveiled a video for the title track. Check it out below.
Due for release on 23 March, Short Movie will be Marling's fifth studio LP - and she's only 25. The album was self-produced by Marling in London, and deals with "reflection and a conscious attempt to change routine".
"I realised that I hadn’t been in place for longer than two or three weeks since I was 16," says Marling. "I thought I wonder what will happen if I try and root myself somewhere? Look back over the past eight years."
Describing the sound of the record, a spokesman said: "This record moving towards a much bigger & electric feel, it’s a much freer and looser sounding album than anything she has done before."
She's also unveiled the title track - a lush folk number, drenched in orchestration and strings and containing one of the most bold and confident vocals that she's ever recorded.
