Glastonbury festival has announced the longlist of finalists for this year's Emerging Talent competition for 2014.
The yearly contest sees unsigned bands compete for the oppurtunity to perform at this years festival with previous winners including the likes of Scouting for Girls (Hmmmm) and The Subways. Last year's winners Bridie Jackson and the Arbour ended up playing five Worthy Farm sets over the course of the festival. Terms and conditions stipulate that entrants must be residents of the UK and Ireland and not be signed to a major label.
Now, 120 acts have been selected before being whittled down to eight who will battle it out in a battle of the bands style event where music bloggers will pick the winner.

"We get very excited about new music, and the Emerging Talent Competition is just a brilliant way for us to discover fresh talent," says Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis. "Our stage bookers come down to the live finals, and dozens of the acts who've entered over the years have been given a slot at the Festival. We can't wait to see what this year's competition brings!"
Arcade Fire have been confirmed as Friday headliners of Glastonbury, while Dolly Parton, Stanton Warriors and Korean singer Choi Go-eun are also on the line-up. Blondie, Warpaint, Suzanne Vega and Lily Allen have confirmed themselves for an appearance, while Kasabian, Prince, Elbow, Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters and Daft Punk are also strongly rumoured.
Glastonbury festival takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 June, 2014.
