Interpol: 2002 was the year that saw Interpol breakthrough and dominate the indie world with their timeless brand of melancholy, releasing Turn On The Bright Lights. Since then there's no denying the band have been through their ups and downs, including losing bassist Carlos D. However the trio have made a triumphant return in 2014 with the glorious El Pintor.

2002, the year The Libertines broke out onto the British indie scene and a decidedly confusing time for new music.
While the pop charts groaned under the likes of Darius and Daniel Bedingfield, garage rock was in the resurgence with the likes of the White Stripes and the Strokes leading their way
However as is the case every year, many acts were tipped for huge things - but did they fulfil their promise? To mark the Libertines huge shows at Alexandra Palace, here are where some of their rivals are up to now.
