Infact, ‘Noise Won’t Stop’ presents itself in a style that is easy to grasp, yet is, as their press say, incongruent to any type of music that would be played on any night out. Experimental yet rhythmic, tracks such as ‘The Volume’ have a twisted Jean Michel Jarre feel with incessant lyrics. It is not lounge music; it has been created to be scrutinised.
There is a definite feel of music history in each of the tracks. The swirling keyboard sounds of ‘Astronaut’ would not be out of place on a Bowie album. It juts out wonderfully to any recent releases, a triumph against the many ‘spam bands’ that are causing a stink at the moment.
The mash of sounds goes on with everything featured from ska to heavy metal, to psychadelia to electro punk. Not the type of music that is easy to stomach but would be amazing at an event, Shy Child have a tireless quality and will keep on snapping away until their Duracell’s run out or they fall asleep.
