Alternative rock outfit Hawk have released a new track 'Glass' which is inspired by and supports the Marriage Equality Referendum in Ireland taking place 22 May.

The track is a soothing piece, taking influence from alternative and ambient music casting a sparse and spooky effect over lead singer Julie Hawk's vocals. The band are looking to encourage the Yes vote in the Marriage Equality referendum that is set to take place in Ireland this month, which would see the legalisation of marriage between same sex couples.

"During out Irish tour in April we met loads of people canvassing and raising awareness for the Marriage Referendum." Julie Hawk explained, "We met and spoke to a variety of passionate campaigners and their enthusiasm really stuck with us. We continued to see the same passion in Galway, Cork and Dublin."

Hawk released their Clock Hands EP earlier this year. You can download the new track 'Glass' for free on Hawk's Soundcloud.
