Bon Iver have shared a brand new song in the form of the stunning 'Heavenly Father', taken from the soundtrack to upcoming Zach Braff film Wish I Was Here.
'Heavenly Father', which sees Justin Vernon make heavy use of a vocoder, marks a slight change in Bon Iver's sound. Gone are the murky, mumbly tones that so used to define them - now Coldplay's copied that, Bon Iver have wisely expanded their sound.
'Heavenly Father' soundtracks upcoming Zach Braff film Wish I Was Here, which is a sort-of follow-up to celebrated 2004 indie vehicle Garden State, which Braff also wrote and directed. The soundtrack to Garden State was almost as a big deal as the film itself, and quickly made a cult classic of The Shins' haunting track 'New Slang'.
