Ryan Adam's long-awaited new album has been confirmed for release on 8 September, 2014 - which is awesome news.
The news was confirmed this morning on BBC 6 Music, after reporter Georgie Rogers received word from Adams' PR. The album will be self-titled, and the tracklisting is as follows:
Gimme Something Good
Kim
Trouble
Am I Safe
My Wrecking Ball
Stay With Me
Shadows
Feels Like Fire
I Just Might
Tired Of Giving Up
Let Go
This is the same day as albums by the likes of Interpol, Death From Above 1979 and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman Karen O are released - so expect to hear all kinds of awesome coming out of your stereo that week.
Even more exciting is the sheer quality of his new launch single, 'Gimme Something Good', his first new music since 2011 album Ashes & Fire, and is set for official release on 1 July as a 7-inch single. It returns to the rockier guitar-led sound of his classic Gold and Easy Tigers days, marking a swaying alt-country gem and one of his most addictive choruses.
Adams is one of the most consistent and prolific songwriters in music - releasing a blinding 13 albums in just 11 years. The three years since 2011's stunning Ashes And Fire is the longest he's taken between solo albums, suggesting it could well be his most considered work to date. We're sure it'll be worth the wait.
He currently has a string of UK tour dates confirmed. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets.
