To mark his new album Distractions, Beardyman has recorded a unique track for Gigwise: a version of Disclosure's 'Latch' in the style of Royal Blood.

Deep in the red basement studio of Beardyman's North London home, a poster hangs proudly bearing the character of Mr Men's 'Mr Noisy'. Hearing the speaker-rattling electronica coming from the custom-built 'Beardytron5000 mkIII' (complete with four iPads and two MacBooks), it seems decidedly appropriate.
A genuine musical polymath, Beardyman (real name: Darren Foreman) has transcended his beginnings as one of the UK's best beatboxers by experimenting extensively with electronica and some decidedly out-there improvisation.
Recently his collaborations have included his One Album Per Hour sessions in which a variety of special guests - including Jack Black, Peter Serafinowicz and Tim Minchin - suggest musical tracks and styles for Beardyman to perform.
To mark his extraordinary new album Distractions, Gigwise asked Beardyman about recording a unique track based around a guitar-based act. We expected something straightforward given the time constraints - we were wrong. In 15 minutes Forman conceived and recorded his own version of 'Latch' by Disclosure, performed as if it was played by Royal Blood. His verdict on both of the bands he's referenced? "Awesome".
