Revealed in an interview published in December but posted online this week, NME reports that Banks new album is half-finished, entitled Business & Pleasure and slotted in for an early 2016 release date. Given she retweeted news stories based on the interview, it would appear everything is on schedule.
Banks released Broke with Expensive Taste in 2014, after initially mentioning the existence of the album in 2012 after she broke out onto the scene with '212'. The album experienced a series of delays and a number of feuds with fellow artists.
She also suggested that she's going to ease her controversial and outspoken quarrels, which in the past has seen her slating everyone from Disclosure, Lady Gaga to Pharrell: “Am I hanging up my fighting gloves? Yeah. I’m a lady. I don’t wanna be dealing with that. Now, when you feel the adrenaline going, you stop yourself. I’m done with that. I’ve done it already. You’ve seen me curse people out. Let’s do something else now.”
She seems to already have taken on this role when she paused her show to stop a fight earlier this week.
