The 1975 covered Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' in the style of D'Angelo this afternoon. If you think you can cope with all that entails, watch it below.
"We've got our laptop and we've got samples and we're just messing around with it," frontman Matt Healy told Radio 1's Clara Amfo. "I mean it's not really like the song but it's good."
As Amfo pointed out afterwards, the band seemed to be channeling G-funk with their cover of the No.1 track, injecting it with brass riffs and samples. They even sampled Bieber's own voice, saying, "Erm, I'm kinda used to it now." It didn't really add anything.
Yesterday (10 February), Matt Healy suggested One Direction lack "artistic credibility" because "they’re four guys who queued up outside an arena to sing in front of Simon Cowell" - we'd be intrigued to know where they stand on Bieber.
